What I Would Need In A Cyber-Terrorist Attack? Tuesday, Mar 9 2010

What would I need in a cyber-terrorist attack? I think I would need many things to get myself save and ready to defend. The first thing I would need is a laptop or portable computer so that I could communicate with others online and let them know where were at, and what we should do. You can also contact emergency services on your computer if you have a special telephone program.
The second thing I would need is a cell phone. I would need a phone so that I can text or call others, or also use the emergency call service that is on many phones. I could also call the authorities to let them know where I am at, and if I am under attack.
The third thing I would need is a advanced cop car, so I could be advanced in my traveling. I could travel and pretend I am a cop, and maybe since I have the cop emblem on the car, the terrorist would stay away. Last, but not least the last thing I would need is my iPod. I would want to listen to music on my ipod and play games on it to make the time go by so I can get my mind off the terroism. So in conclusion, with all these things that I have chosen to be need in a cyber-terrorism attack. I think that I will be safe and ready for anything that occurs.

How I Use the Internet Today? Thursday, Jan 28 2010

The internet is useful in many different ways that benefit us in the modern world today. It makes life easier, and it helps us advance our technology that we certainly want to use for future problems, diffuculties, and hard times. The first thing I use the internet for is breaking news or just regular news that just happened. Knowing the news on the internet is faster than waiting for the newspaper or waiting for it to appear on TV. By reading news on the internet, we can get more information from the article that other sources might not have. I read news on the internet to be updated with the world and what currently happened.
My second use is using the internet for communication with other people. Some online communication is free, but some are costful, but even if its costful, you are not wasting paper just to contact or reach someone. I email people by messaging them, online instant messaging, communicate on facebook, myspace, formspring, and youtube. It helps me contact them in emergencies, other important events, update me about things and keep me busy.
My third use is online gaming which I use through my XBOX 360. I play video games with other people online through the internet. I can interact with them and also talk to them.
My last benefit of the internet today is buying stuff online. With the use of online shopping, we don’t have to wait in line at stores, and especially waste the gas we want to use for other important things. where they might not even have what you are looking for. Shopping online will get you what you want and how you want it but the only down part is you have to wait. Internet today, benefits many of us in the world and has advanced the world today very far.

My First Communication Device Monday, Jan 11 2010

My first communication device I got was some small gray Nokia T-Mobile Cell Phone. I got it for my birthday when I was 10 years old. I needed a phone to call people for emergencies or for other activities and so my mom got me a wireless mobile phone. The phone was gray and a fat phone. On the night I got it, I was exploring every part of the phone. First of all, I can of course call and receive calls with the phone. I also have a contact list on my phone so that I can save people’s number on my phone. I can also text message which is helpful if i am unable to talk on the phone.
Also on the phone, there are games, internet service, and functions that help me get through everyday life. I liked playing the games when i was bored, but when it got boring i wanted internet but you had to pay. Everyone needs to communicate with other, even if they’re next to you, or if they’re far away. That is why we have cell phones.
In the future, I would want to see phones in everything we use, such as in the car or on our watch. I would also like to see communication advance so that I could talk to anyone in the world, and help us be safe while using it also. Without communication, we wouldn’t advance in mostly anything in the world.

TRON SUMMARY Wednesday, Oct 28 2009

A computer game, that is like a current present game called light bike. The game is taken seriously and starts hacking. The movie is about a guy that is a software engineer who works for a software company. He creates couple video games on the companies mainframe when nobody is there. Though, there is another programmer that is a rival and try to get in the way of what the other guy is doing. His name is Kevin Flynn and his rival is a man named Ed Dilinger. Dilinger earns himself some executive promotions while Flynn is stuck working at a video game arcade which features the games he created. Flynn also tries to hack into the ENCOM mainframe to find evidence of Dilingers wrongdoing.

My Weekend Thursday, Oct 22 2009

There are many things in this beautiful world that interests us. But does anyone take the time to explore these things. A lot of people in this world either think of exploring the world boring, or there are others that want to explore the world cause they think its really amazing. People would ask why study world literature, and there is many things you can study. But in World Literature, we can compare it with reality, it can be fact, and how the world works in different time periods.
World Literature, is not just explained and studied in folk stories, it is also fact. It talks about the World itself, of the worldwide events, that had or will take place. There are historical moments, amazing events, and other things that amaze this world. World Literature turns reality news, into interesting and need to read kind of stories.
Like I said World Literature is not just imaginary things, it is mostly based on reality. So, reality is just like the Mars Pathfinder, Search for Everlasting Life, Mt. Everest Climb, and etc. These stories are reality and is being told by people itself in there story. These stories are also boring, but these stories are reality and World Literature is together World Wide.
All the talk of things changing in the World is not true actually, well not in a literal way. News from way back in the past, stay news, meaning the way things are do not really change. These stories have a really comparison between each other, that makes sound they are the same news relatively. So news stays news, no matter what period it is, it ends up being related.
World Literature can be compared, can be fact, and can stay news. The World works together as one by making all the Literature in the World. These are many reasons why to study and not study World Literature. But these things are just small things why we should study it. World Literature may sound boring if you make it boring.

The Power-On Process Thursday, Sep 24 2009

When people have computers they think its cool, and amazing to have one. So over time they get used to using the computer and think they know everything to do with the computer, because there so used to it, but they do not know the works of the inside of a working computer. When your PC is turned on, most of the electricity starts to warm up the components that will be used on in a few seconds to send, receive, slice, hash, squeeze, and memorize bits and bytes of data flowing through the system like a busy station. The path takes the current to the CPU or microprocessor, main and head of the whole system. In this case, it’s the first instruction, and the address is located on a flash memory chip on the computer’s motherboard. All together, they’re called the BIOS because they work as the computer’s basic input and output system. The first trickle of electricity has done its job. Now the BIOS takes over the task of awakening the computer’s components, giving them a pop quiz called the power-on self-test to make sure the needed parts of the computer are there and functioning properly. The BIOS starts off by checking a small, 64-byte chunk of RAM located on a complementary metal oxide semiconductor chip that is kept alive by a battery even when the computer is off. The BIOS has the CPU send signals over the system bus to be sure all the basic components are functioning. The BIOs checks to see if its used in a cold boat, which is when the computer had been turned off, or it is a warm boat or a reboot. The POST sends signals over specific paths on the bus to the internal floppy, optical, and hard disk drives, and listens for a response to determine which drives are available.

Motherboard Assignment Tuesday, Sep 15 2009

null
This picture is a motherboard with all parts that helps bring all our computers that we use daily in the world today together. The Mother board is the uniting element among all the chips and circuitry that make up a computer. Devices connect with each other through the motherboards circuits which give them their power. In the following paragraphs i am going to name common parts of the motherboard:

Memory slots are current slots support DDR and DDR2 RAM, which is now the more popular type of memory.
Power Supply Connections are older boards have only one 20-pin connector.
IDE Connector are connects to two EIDE/ATA hard drives and optical drives using the older parallel connection.
CPU Socket determines what kind of raicroprocessor, or CPU the motherboard uses.
The North Bridge and South Bridge together form the computer’s chip set, secondary only to the processor in determining the performance and capabilities of a PC.
South Bridge is two-digit display that provides codes used in troublshooting a disable PC.
Battery keeps the BIOS chip drive.
Floppy Disk Connections only communicated with a floppy drive, that works your floppy disk.
Ports is an input or output panel that holds the miscellaneous ports on the back and front of the PC that are used for communicating with external devices.
Expansion Slots are additional capabilities that can be added to the computer by plugging a circuit board called an expansion card in one of the slots.
USB is the slots in which you can connect keyboards, mouses, and your USB drive ( holds files and documents)

What kind of computer/computer hardware do you have? What kind do you wish you had? Monday, Aug 31 2009

The type of computer i am using currently, is a toshiba satellite laptop. I got it from my uncle, but i have no idea how much this toshiba satellite laptop cost me. I think this is an okay laptop, but it really sucks. The laptop does not go as fast as other computers, even if the the files, and everything is cleaned up. The built in camera, does not work sometimes, and it is really irritating. Also, the battery life of this toshiba satellite computer, last for only about one hour and thirty minutes max, when it is fully charged. But since i think this was a cheap laptop, there is a few good things about my toshiba satellite laptop. This toshiba satellite laptop, is a portable computer, this laptop actually works pretty well, and it is better than having a old regular computer. Those few good things are actually obvious things, but its something. But thats why the kind of computer i would love to get it is a Apple computer, or a Mac Book. My sister has a Mac and i tried it out, and it is a really smooth working computer. It is really fast, and it seems really better than all those other laptops in the world to me. The Mac Book also has a really high quality camera on it, and everyone seems to like it. That is why i would trade or sell my crap computer, for a super good computer like a Apple Mac Book.

The Evolution of Technology Wednesday, Aug 19 2009

What is the Evolution of Technology? The world of technology is important to everyone. The evolution of technology takes place all around the world. Everywhere in the world, technology evolves in there surrounding area, every single day. So right now, the whole world is advancing in technology each and every day. Since ancient times the world of technology has been increasing greatly in every way. The evolution of technology goes from way back to the ancient times such as about 30,000 B.C. ( Before Christ ) to present day. Technology has been with our world forever, devices such as, the first microwave, telephone, typewriter, cell phone, computer, an mp3 device, printer, speakers, and etcetera. All the way back in ancient times, they started off from stone, walls, and hieroglyphics. Then, came the technology of the first typewriter, which leads to a computer, and the first telephone. Soon after, created inventions such as systems used in the military, systems of calculations for mathematics, and world use, and the technology into science and medicine. Also, years later, the technology of the military, science, medicine, music, communication, and writing has advanced in a huge way. Now, technology had advanced into missiles, tanks, super computers, advanced telescopes, advanced calculators, life supporting machines, iPod’s, cell phones, telephones, computers, laptops, and etc. The evolution of technology has obviously advanced since the ancient times, which explains to us that the world has been progressing from the ancient times until present day. I am so glad I live in the generation of great technology.
